Aero Mobile

MTN Sudan has developed an exciting new service called Aero Mobile – a safe, cost effective solution allowing passengers to use their mobile phones and Personal Digital Assistants (PDA) whilst in flight.

1- In which airlines will you be able to use Aero Mobile service?
Aero Mobile has agreements with below airlines:

• Emirates Airlines.
• Malaysia Airlines.

Coming Soon: 

• Qantas Airlines.
• Turkish Airlines.
• British Airways.

2- Is Aero Mobile appropriate to any aircraft type?
Yes, Aero Mobile is appropriate for narrow and wide-bodied aircraft. Airbus, Boeing and other aircraft types are all supported.

3- Will I be able to use my own personal mobile phone onboard the aircraft?
Yes, you will be able to use your own mobile phone just as you would when roaming abroad. Aero Mobile is initially launching with GSM phone compatibility.

4- Will my phone need to be international enabled to use Aero Mobile?
Yes. Aero Mobile is considered as another country (international roaming) within the existing international mobile phone network. As is the case on the ground, any international roaming between countries requires the phone to be international roaming enabled.

5- Can I use my 3G mobile onboard the aircraft?
Yes, 3G capable mobile phones will be able to use the GSM based services just as they would on the ground.

6- When will I be able to use my phone during flight?
Use of mobile phones will be permitted during the cruise phase of flight only, consistent with existing guidelines for use of portable electronic devices. The exact details of use will be determined by the individual airline.
