Collaboration of Efforts with Kasala People

In continuation to its efforts to support those affected by intensified rainfall and floods in some areas in Khartoum and other Sudan States that caused some problems to citizens, MTN-Sudan, as is always, took the initiative to assist in flood relief and extend assistance to heavy rains and grave floods victims despite the incalculable difficulties as   torrential rains associated with cyclones caused unprecedented floods in the State of Kasala.  This natural disaster left a trail of destruction, death and misery for hundreds of people in this area. MTNers rushed to the devastated places to stand by civilian population alongside with the State Government officials in the picturesque city of Kasala known for its outstanding scenic beauty, spectacular mountains, lush green hills and beautiful streams, thus demonstrating solidarity and cooperation at its best.

The State's task force was led by the Governor of the State of Kasala Eng. Adam Jama' who remained day and night to provide help at the flood affected areas.  The teamwork also conducted on the ground inspection visit to ascertain the situation of the affected families in various areas where MTNers distributed large amounts of blankets and impregnated mosquito nets beside other hygiene kits among traumatized people the thing which was enthusiastically received and highly valued by the people in these places.

"Allah Subhanu wa Ta'alla Puts his steadfast believers through trials and tribulations in order to validate the sincerity of our faith. However, Sudan people will come out of this trial, In Sha Allah and will rise from the ashes stronger with deeper faith and greater determination to regain their national unity and cohesiveness and stay like the (bricks of) a building, each strengthens the other " said Mr. 'Alaa Aldin Elsheikh, Manager, Social Responsibility in MTN-Sudan.

For his part, Governor of the State of Kasala Eng. Adam Jama' paid tribute to MTN-Sudan for taking significant part in flood relief and providing assistance to victims in Kasala. "This reflects the true sense of MTN's responsibility towards the community," said Eng. Adam adding that it is customary for MTN-Sudan to be there whenever needed, and this no surprise to us.
