MTN-Sudan & the Ministry of Health in the State of Khartoum Sign an Agreement to Use Technology for the Provision of Emergency Health Services to Persons in Need of Urgent or Chronic Medical Treatment

In extension to its services provided to the Community and its institutions, MTN-Sudan and the Ministry of Health in the State of Khartoum signed an agreement to use technology and business solutions in the domain of health referral. This system will be connected to ambulances in hospitals in order to reduce deaths rates owing to the time lost in search for a vacant bed in ICUs in hospitals.

The system will connect hospitals and ambulances with automated software which will point out to the ambulance driver the nearest hospital where a vacant bed is available in its ICU.

The Director General in the Ministry of Health in the State of Khartoum, Dr. Babikir Muhammad 'Ali expressed his tremendous pleasure for signing this agreement, stating that they preferred to deal with MTN-Sudan to provide this valuable and highly sensitive service for many reasons based on technical studies, closer examinations and comparison studies that lasted for months. "This project will boost the medical services provided by the Ministry in the State of Khartoum and in turn will protect and promote the health of citizens in this State," he said.

The Agreement was signed by  both Parties at the close of the meeting, in the presence of Mr. Tarig Muhammad al-Hasan, the Legal Advisor, Mr. Eltayeb Ali Farah, Senior Manager, Corporate Communications and Eng. Ahmad Ghandur, Senior Manager Business Solutions in MTN-Sudan, and Dr. 'Abd al-Qadir 'Ali Bashir, Director, Health Promotion Department and Dr. Muhammad 'Umar 'Attiya the Director of Statistics Department in the Ministry of Health in the State of Khartoum
